Project Overview:

People in Need (PIN) is a prominent non-governmental organization dedicated to human rights and sustainable development, operating in Cambodia since 2008. One of their notable initiatives is the SWITCH to Solar project, which aims to enhance sustainable consumption in the Cambodian agri-fishery sector by promoting solar solutions. To support this project, PIN required a service provider to create high-quality video content that would serve both promotional and technical purposes for Solar Technology Providers (STPs) involved in the initiative.

Objective and Scope of the Service:

The goal was to produce ten distinct videos—five focusing on technical maintenance and five on sales support—for the selected Solar Technology Providers. These videos were intended to:

1. Technical Maintenance Videos: Provide clear, step-by-step guidance on maintaining solar technology. Each video demonstrates maintenance procedures, highlights essential tips, and ensures users understand how to keep their systems functioning optimally.
2. Sales Support Videos: Equip sales agents with the tools needed to effectively promote solar technology. These videos cover product features, benefits, and unique selling points, offering sales techniques, tips, and strategies to enhance their promotional efforts.

Our Solution:

Mangrove Studio was tasked with the full video production cycle, including concept development, scripting, filming, editing, and final delivery. Here’s how we approached the project:

• Pre-Production: We worked closely with PIN to understand the specific needs of the STPs and define the objectives for each video. We developed detailed storyboards and scripts to ensure clarity and relevance.
• Production: Our team filmed on location in Phnom Penh, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom, capturing high-quality footage of the solar technology and its applications. We ensured that the technical maintenance processes and sales techniques were presented clearly and engagingly.
• Post-Production: We edited the footage to create polished, professional videos. Each video was tailored to its purpose—whether demonstrating maintenance procedures or supporting sales efforts. We incorporated visual aids, text overlays, and animations to enhance understanding and engagement.
• Dissemination Strategy: The final videos were prepared for distribution through various channels, including online platforms (YouTube, social media), community and public screenings, and direct distribution to key stakeholders.

Results:

The produced videos successfully met the objectives of the SWITCH to Solar project. They provided valuable technical guidance to users, supported STPs in promoting solar technology, and contributed to the overall goal of encouraging sustainable consumption practices. The videos were well-received across multiple platforms and played a crucial role in advancing the adoption of solar solutions in Cambodia.
